Qigong is a set of geometric movements that focus on promoting health and longevity. "Qi" means energy or life force. "Gong" means work or technique. Qigong allows the person to work on relaxation, alignment and sensitivity to their energetic field. Qigong as a healing system is over 5000 years old. It is one of the "four pillars" of Traditional Chinese Medicine. (The other three pillars include: Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and Tui na, a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine manual therapy.)
